Where are we now?

We're Hitched!!!

Brian and Austyn Ford.

So to hook you up on all our goings and so forth...

The wedding was beautiful. It was wonderful to be surrounded by our families, and seemed as if they got a long fantastically, which is a blessing in itself. But it was beautiful. Beautiful weather. Beautiful people. Beautiful photographs. Beautiful time. It was everything I could of hoped for - so yeah. awesomeness.

Event Name: Bruenning

You'll have to log in and stuff - don't worry, your e-mail is safe and so forth - but then you can see all the pictures. They are beautiful. Fantastic Job Dirk!!!

Mexico was awesome (that was our honeymoon). Down in the Maya Riviera. It was great. All inclusive. View over the Caribbean. It was breath taking. We also went on a ATV tour through the jungle out there and got to swim in some fresh water Cenotes, one that went in a cave - it was beautiful... so beautiful. And we also went on a canopy zipline (11 lines) through the jungle. It was great! So much fun. (I can't believe its all gone by so fast).

We arrived back in Chicago to start our tours of Receptions. We headed up to Little Chute, WI and had a reception at a park close to my grandma's and aunt and uncle's house. It was great. Was able to meet some family that I've only met once before in my life (my dad's side of the family seems to go on forever sometimes). But it was great spending time with family. Brian and I stayed with my Brother and Pam's house and played with the kids for 2 days (went to see fireworks. and WALL-E!!!!). It was fun. Then got back in the car to head down to Chicago for the second reception.

It was wonderful being able to spend one last party down at Jake's Pub. The reception was great and was wonderful spending time and catching up with family friends. We stayed in Chicago for two more days and headed back to Colorado.

We've been back in Colorado now for about a week and half - and have gotten a lot done. The day we got back we had a message left on Brian's phone saying that the condo we have been renting just sold and is closing in 9 days.... 9 DAYS! We had to start working on fixing our Jeep, Ruff, and start packing! It was kind of crazy. But we did it - moved out of our Condo in Niwot yesterday and now are hanging out at his parents place for the weekend. But all in the midst of this we had the Colorado reception! Now, Brian from this point had to continually meet people he didn't know and most of them he just married into - so two parties where he didn't know anyone... and now it was my turn. It was great though, meeting people that have been friends of the Fords for a long time and finaly putting faces with the name's I've been hearing about. It was a great time. Left Hand Brewery did a great job! Thanks guys!

So now... we are out in Firestone staying at Brian's parent's house. All our stuff is sitting in the front of the garage and in the trailer. We lifted the jeep and it looks hot. The trailer is next, well, not lifting it, but a new paint job and things. We are all set. We will be taking off Wednesday morning to head on our new adventure to Alaska.

We'll keep ya posted.

The Wedding and Reception Scoop

So here is the scoop: We LOVE you all, and want you all to celebrate this awesome new part of life with us, but logistically, all doing it on the same day isn't possible. As my dream of a small beach wedding and with our "homes" being 1000 miles apart, we decided to take our families out to North Carolina to have the wedding (for those who do not know, I was born in NC - given that connection on why we picked there). BUT we don't want you to think that your not loved or unimportant or get all sad and stuff, cause as we said, we love you all. That is why we are having awesome celebrations in Wisconsin, Chicago and Colorado. I am planning on not wearing my dress (sorry fokes), but you can see pictures and dance and have awesome food and beer (Longmont reception is being held at Left Hand Brewery) and not have to pay a couple hundred (if not thousand) for flights and housing and food to make it North Carolina. So please please please come celebrate with us near your homeland - cause in all reality, its going to be pretty awesome.

··· Wisconsin Reception will be on July 3rd (in the Appleton area)
··· Chicago Reception will be on July 5th located at Jakes Pub (Oakdale and Clark)
··· Colorado Reception will be on July 13th, located at Left Hand Brewery (Longmont)

So thats the scoop. I hope you all understand and are as excited as we are. Thank you so much for being apart of our lives and can't wait to see you all whenever we are all together again.

North Carolina

What you need to know:

Time-Line
Austyn's Parents, Austyn and Brian will be leaving from Chicago the 20th of June. We are caravaning down to Holden Beach, NC, hauling all the food, decorations, beverages, clothing and everything else that is needed for the wedding to happen. We will be arriving to Holden Beach on Saturday, 21st. Brian's parents will be arriving Sunday on the Island. We are planning on Sunday and Monday to just relax and enjoy, and begin to get decorations/food and all that fun stuff rolling and put together. Tuesday is the wedding day! Brian and I don't know yet what time we will get married - we are waiting for the tide's timing and all that fun stuff - but it will be in the afternoon/early evening on Tuesday, the 24th. From there, the reception will take place following the wedding (with pictures in between). Then Brian and I will leave for Maya Riviera, early Wednesday morning.

Housing
There is a list on the right side of the screen that has the links to house rentals. Most of the house rentals have check-ins being Saturday, the 21st. There are a few hotels in the surrounding areas, yet none on the island itself. There could be a possibility that there is a room or at least a bed available in one of the rental houses, but please just e-mail us and we could get that ball rolling if needed.

***there is new information on a conference center on Oak Island (the island just "north" of Holden) that are giving us quotes for rooms. We don't have any in depth information yet, but once we know, we'll spread the word around.

Airports
The closest airports include: Wilmington and Myrtle Beach (SC).
Airports with a few hour's drive include: Rayleigh-Durham and Charlotte (about 3 hours).

Transportation from Airports
If you fly into Wilmington or Myrtle Beach, we may be able to pick you up - again, just let us know.

Ya Gotta Eat
Food on the Island isn't really found. Be prepared to chip in on food expense during the stay, or take a trip to the Walmart or Food Lion that's located in Wilmington (30 minute drive).

Individuals Behind the Big Day

Food: we are having an Asian influenced reception (NC) dinner. Renee, a family friend here in Chicago, is coming down to be our in house chef. She has be making amazing food for us to taste, which includes sushi. She is also making the cake, and by no surprise, its not really a cake (I'll let you be surprised. Its fantastic). But we are so excited and so extremely thankful for Renee. Thank you again, Love.

Photography: (my biggest excitement) let me first explain my mindset on this subject. Since I live in a world were I am constantly analyzing light and organizing colors and look for the perfect setting for things - of course I would make that happen for the wedding... almost every piece of it. And whats funny is that I almost put on the invitations, "please wear the following colors: ...." But I thought that I would be deemed a little to crazy if I actually did that. (But if you really want to know: please don't wear big prints - stick with solids; pastels are perfect... the color spectrum is always changing but a good bet would be Reds, Browns, Blacks, Whites and Tans.) But I am making decisions on the basis on "how would this photograph." And thus leads us to introduce Dirk Fletcher. He is the director of the photography program I am in, here in Chicago. He is a brilliant photographer and an awesome person to hang around. I am very thankful for him to be apart of the day. Thank You, Dirk.

Ordained Individual: Matt Coghill and his wife have been awesome mentors and friend to Brian over the years. When I came into the picture, they also took me under their wing. As they prepare to move to Brussels as missionaries, they have put in their plans to marry us before leaving the country. We love them and thank you once again for all you have done for us and can't wait to visit you in your new home.

Wedding Party

So here is the line up, and please don't laugh (but smile immensity)

Austyn Elizabeth Bruenning and Brian Patrick Ford are the Bride and Groom (no surprise). Maid of honor is Raun Alexander Bruenning (Austyn's brother - so it is really called Matron of Honor). Best Man is Evan Ballowe. Our flower girls include our grandmothers on our mother's side - Ethel Gregg and Jerry Barrington. Matt Coghill is marring us.

So thats it. Pretty sweet, hu?

And yes, the flower girls will be throwing peddles. And no, Raun will not being wearing a dress.
